Atlanta! Rise Up!

Giselle has pointed out that Fr. Alvaro Corcuera will be at Pinecrest Academy on Thursday for a mass at 7 pm.

Legionaries in Atlanta: ask him the tough questions. You deserve to know the answers. Don't let him give you a sweet smile and a half answer. Challenge him. This might be new to you, but heck, you deserve some answers. You gave your life in the name of Maciel, you deserve that life back.

RC members of Atlanta: they took your money and Maciel used it for his own personal fun. Are you just going to keep sitting back and letting them take you for a ride? They had to know, they were watching that money and counting it over and over again. They had to know. Ask Fr. Alvaro the questions that are on your mind. This is not a matter of total respect for superiors. You were wronged and have not been made right yet. Ask the tough questions.

Parents of Atlanta: your kids are at risk. Have they even been told of the horrors of what Maciel did and that it is obvious that other LCs had to know about what was going on? Or were they told some excuse? Take on Fr. Alvaro, he is the one who owes you the answers. And you owe it to your kids.

Catholics of Atlanta: they promised you answers and never gave you any. They disrespected the Church and are causing scandal. Ask the tough questions. Get the answers that they promised when the said that they would release a statement and never did.

Wrong time? Not at a mass? or after? or before?
Well when will it be the right time then?

The time for fear is over. The charity they preach to you is a cover to make you fear more, since they don't even practice it themselves.

It is time for justice.

Pinecrest Academy's calendar of events lists a "reception" at the same time as the Mass on Thursday evening. Likely, it will follow the Mass--so questions could be asked there (?)

Alvaro will probably announce from the get-go that he won't be addressing any questions about the "sad revelations" regarding the founder. He'll state some pious truisms that mean nothing and avoid any tough questions like the plague. He'll talk about the importance of moving forward and growing the kingdom (we can't let the sins of one man distract us from our mission, etc, etc). If anybody tried to heckle him, they will likely be thrown out.

I've hammered away at LC priests since the news came out in February. The masks never came off, and the conversations never got beyond the talking points NO MATTER WHAT I SAID. It was like talking to robots. This convinced me of the malformation of the LC more than anything else. I thought these holy-looking priests I knew surely couldn't be so messed up---until I started talking to them about Maciel. It was eye-opening.

Punch him on the nose.

You have to do it in public, whether they want to or not. It just has to be done.
And you have to tell them that their arguments are flakey and stupid. They need to be told.
But here I am talking about the superior general. He needs to answer if he likes it or not.

And the only "sad" thing about it is their refusal to face it.

If you go, please do not waste the opportunity by being aggressive in your questioning. I know it would be difficult, but it is important to ask valid questions charitably. If you don't, the focus becomes the belligerant attitude of the questioner, and not the valid right to ask that question. Don't give them the chance to write you off as "emotive" (a word I have heard used to describe dissenters) or attacking.

Plan a few solid well-worded questions ahead of time. If AC evades the question, then call him on it - "Father, you have not answered my question. My question is ..."

I guarantee that he is in Atlanta for the "state of the section" evenings that are planned for the women this week. They are pulling out their biggest guns to keep theses women nailed to the movement.

Bonilla (MM's children's lawyer) on

WOW! I just saw the complete interview with the lawyer representing 3 of Maciel's sons, José Bonilla (see link in above comment). Lots of new revelations, including the name of the middle sibling (José). So now we now that there's:

1. Norma Hilda Rivas (from Acapulco, currently living in Madrid).

2,3, 4. Raul, José and Cristian González, from Cuernavaca, Mexico. José was Maciel's favorite son, and the one who is leading the process with Bonilla.

5. Bonilla mentions another son, Kevin, living in London, and...

6. Another daughter, from France, who passed away in a car accident as she was on her way to the airport to pick up her father (Maciel).

All six siblings new each other. José lived for some time with Norma Hilda in Madrid.

Bonilla also shows one letter from Maciel to his son José, filled with spelling mistakes, typewritten, and signed with the undeniable penmanship of MM, under the name "José Alberto González".

And much, much more!

CORRECTION: Regarding my previous comment, above.:

Maciel's Alias was Not JOSE Alberto, but JAIME Alberto Gonzalez, and that's how he signed said letter.
Sorry about that.

Argh! So frustrated I don't speak/understand Spanish!

My question: did he say anything about having "proof" that JPII knew about Maciel's children? Because it's going to take a whole lot more than a photo of JPII with Norma to prove to me that he knew these children were Maciel's offspring.

Which does lead me to the realization that if JPII did not know, Maciel must have have been laughing up his sleeve as he passed off such a fraud right under the nose of the pontiff. What balls to have the Pope give first communion to his daughter all while allowing the Pope to venerate him like a saint!

It must have made the megalomaniac feel powerful as God Himself.

Again and again there are inconsistencies that allegedly come from this lawyer. He himself may not be inconsistent, but the reports of what he says certainly are.

Apparently one son lived with Norma Hilda in Madrid? Well, if he did so it has to have been within the past year because the Norma Hilda mother and daughter apparently only received visas to enter Spain last year.

He is now apparently representing 3 sons? The stories printed on this blog over the past week suggested that he was representing two sons and Norma Hilda.

I'm not questioning the existence of other children. It's just frustrating relying on unreliable journalism. Of course the LC could solve this by revealing the truth...

Maybe the lived together in Mexico. Doesn't say they all lived in Spain, just that they lived together.

And I understood from the articles last week that the lawyer represented three, and only three names had been revealed, so some had jumped to the conclusion in the comboxes that the three named were the same three being represented. We now know that's not true, but it's also not what was printed in the articles.

The RC section ass't in our city recently sent an e-mail to the membership announcing the possibility of up to 6 children. This e-mail was the result of a teleconference with the territorial director Fr. Scott Reilly specifically for the section assistants and concerning the further news reports about Maciel. It would not have been disclosed 1) without permission from Fr. Scott and 2) without the LC being certain of that number.

send that email to landoncody6@gmail.com and I will post it toute suite.

This was reportedly clarified by Bonilla in an email exchange with a Spanish-speaking blogger. It appears that he is representing three sons, two of whom were partially identified by the media. They are in contact with and receiving assistance from Norma Hilda, their half-sister through Maciel.

These parts of TVN Informe Especial - "Los pecados de Marcial Maciel"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bULd4ggbFsE

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-aMI7Ma_gO0

are very interesting about communication strategy of LC (both internal and external) and the meaning of Holy See communiqué in 2006 disciplining Maciel (was it an a divinis suspension?)

Another exLegionary said...

If it was a suspension, why didn't they just make that clear? Why leave it open to spin by the LC? And who the hell tacked on the "Apart from the founder" clause? That has caused more confusion than anything the LC could have done.

Anonymous said...

I hope a canonist could help us.

I thought the "apart from the founder" phrase was the clearest part of the communique. The Legion ignored it completely, which led the the present situation.

Norma and her mother have lived in spain since early 90´s . Ther is no proof they received visa last year. And it doesnt proof they didn live in Spain...

Anonymous said...

Yes, there is proof, and it is (or was until recently) on the internet at the Spanish Embassy's consular services in Mexico. But that doesn't mean that they could'nt have resided in Spain previously.

For those who are interested, I posted some thoughts on the communique here:

If not for his priesthood, I'd suggest throwing water in Fr. Corcuera's face.

He and the other Maciel cronies have known all about this slew of bastard children and the hush money payments for FIFTEEN YEARS.

Anyone still fooled by the sweet smiles is, plain and simple, an idiot. This is a criminal enterprise, and the guys running it are criminals.

Well you could throw Holy Water and see if he melts, or flees, or begins to twist his head 360 [/sarcasm]

Let's hope tomorros (Thursday)somebody in Atlanta takes up the idea and organizes a good holy water attack on that nincompoop.

I'd love to find videos posted here today of a holy water/super-soaker attack on him.

so do you think the media will show up or do you think by now they really don't care? And I wonder what all the staff at the school think of all this craziness?
