Now THIS is the Pinnacle of Pride

This priest goes beyond the pale!
From Giselle:

NEWSFLASH: The women in a certain [formerly thriving] section were just visited by their new [LC] priest. In addition to the other introductory information he passed along, he praised them for their fidelity, sadly noting that much of the RC leadership had defected out of sheer pride. They were there when everything was good, when the accolades were rolling in, when the limelight was on them. Once the road got a little rocky, they threw in the towel -- since they don't know how to deal with crosses.

And those M(*&^er F*&^ers actually preach perfect charity in word!!!

G. later identifies the section as Alanta in the combox.

Ah but you forgot, they have no shame. Seriously, it is vomit worthy. Just when I think I've heard the worst...

Please, do tell us, which preist was this?

The members are leaving because of the disasterous way the Legion and the LC public relations, Jim Fair, have handled this situation. Members realize that the Legion heirarchy has lied to them and has tried to keep the truth from coming to surface. It's not that the members can't handle crosses...just being a member of RC is cross enough. Limelight?? I can't remember when we were ever in the limelight. Not in my diocese! I look back and have come to realize that the diocesan priests didn't want the legion in their own back yard...not becuase they were jealous of them and their formation...it's because they were protecting their own flock. Pride?? It's the members, benefactors and sympathizers that have made the legion into the success they think they achieved. This priest is drinking way too much koolaid and that's the problem...they feel persecuted and rejected. WAKE UP! Clean yourselves up and maybe you'll have some members standing up with you after all this.

Out there and off-topic question of the day - how old is Father Luis Garza?

MM was a personality cult...and all personality cults leaders end up sexually abusing others because it is about power and control over others....how far will you go for me type of stuff. MM misused the Gospel. Shame.

I guess y'all aren't aware that Jim Fair is a canonized saint -- remember how one of the "leadership" praised him as having "earned a high place in heaven" or something like that for how he performed?

Careful with that one Anonymous @ 9:11 a.m. That was Fr. Berg bumping the blame up to the Legion leadership for its poor response. He was basically saying "Don't blame Jim Fair, look at who he's representing..."

BTW...Pride is a good thing:

Pete,

About the Jim Fair comment -- point well taken -- but notwithstanding the context, I think Father Berg could have found some other way to state his opinion.

It really bothers me how LC/RC people frequently refer to others in their group as saintly or holy.

Seems kind of self-serving, to say the least.
