Ah, Sunday morning. I do miss those practical exams - "Have I determined yet what kind of fecal matter my soul is for my infidelities to the founder?", lol.

Those exams are some twisted, twisted shit. Just send a copy of those to the investigators.

Or the salterio de mis dias. Comedy gold now!

Does anyone have link to those exam questions?

From a 1993 letter:

On completing 49 years of fidelity to Jesus Christ, my heart raises a song of gratitude to the Father of mercies, from whom descends every perfect gift, and praises him for the great works he has done in me as a priest, and through me, in the Legion and the Movement.

The practical exams... You're right, I asked several great theologians in France about them, and all of them were horrified!!
Do I love the Legion as the mother who gave me everything?
Does the sentence "the life of a legionary is a life of pain" has any consequence on my life?
Do I realise that a lonely grace, accepted or refused, can fix for ever my salvation or my damnation?
Do I ask God, with humility and trust, that he grant me the grace to be perseverant until my death to my vocation? Do I have had any periode of crisis in my vocation? Did those trouble lead me to think that I had not vocation? Do I have consented to these thought?

No, this is not a joke. Those questions were REALLY parts of the practical exams.

But, they were not written by MM, but by Fr. Arumi, as I have been told.

I already sent some this shit to the investigator.

At the end of RC weekend retreats for we had to fill out similar "practical exams," which then had to be given to our Spiritual Directors. Even in my diehard kool-aid drinking days, these exams bothered me and would only fill them in partially and hesitantly, as I recognized the potential for manipulation in them.

Now as a detoxed, recovering exRC, the mere thought of these "practical exams" makes me want to vomit in disgust.

Shame on you, Legion of Christ and Regnum Christi!

That's disturbingly Calvinist sounding! Didn't they ever check these things against, I dunno-- a catechism or something?

Though it is a nice touch--they call everyone who questions their legitimacy a heretic, while indoctrinating young Catholic men with heresies!!!!

Yes, they did check these things against the catechism--the catechism of Maciel, don't you know! What Nuestro Padre thought about it is the only thing that mattered. Were LC's even encouraged (or allowed?) to read the Catechism? I know the Apostolic boys were only allowed to read the Bible and the Works of dear ole Nuestro Padre for their spiritual nourishment. They had a steady diet of Maciel's thoughts and spirit. I wonder if these young boys ever even cracked open the Catechism of the Catholic Church? Probably not.........Maciel and his minions probably knew that if these boys were allowed to read what the Church actually teaches, it might cause them to "consent" to thoughts that they might not have an LC "vocation" after all.

"On completing 49 years of fidelity to Jesus Christ, my heart raises a song of gratitude to the Father of mercies, from whom descends every perfect gift, and praises him for the great works he has done in me as a priest, and through me, in the Legion and the Movement."

Thanks for the above quote, AnotherEx. Who can read this crap without either laughing their asses off or puking their guts out? I don't know how any RC/LC can stomach staying in after reading this bs knowing what we all now know about Molester Maciel.

When can we Kanye Fr Alvaro?

"Yo Fr Alvaro, I'm really happy for you, I'm a let you finish, but Paul Lennon had one of the best discussion boards of ALL TIME!!"

French, can't you photoshop the Fr Alvaro photo from the Life after RC blog; just paste Kanye so Fr Alvaro is giving him his twink smile, with a text bubble. I think that would be awesome.

Ive just heard a general chapter is coming to remove superiors. Too much pressure from US legionaries.(have to say the most intelligent so far)
The internal fracture is on.
An external general superior is the most probable thing to happen after the visitation.
This i heard from a friend who works inside the Legion business structure.
