Here Goes...

Well, it seems that the students found out about the closure of the Gateway High before the teachers. Must have been nice...

Now for Scotty:
On why waiting so late in the school year to announce this
"we just couldn't pull the trigger"

On the Apostolic Visitation:
"there are two kinds of Visitation: one high and one low. We are under the low one"

On the reason for closing the high school:
"the drop in the stock market and registrations were down: from 100 to 60"

Is this dude for real? Well Scott, you certainly have gotten no smarter over the years. When all of those blogs talk about fudging grades in the Legion of Christ to promote people through to ordination, making way for not very bright superiors, they are talking about YOU.

There are no types of Apostolic Visitation. Each one is tailored to the particular need. That is reality and plain old common sense.

These guys might sound wonderful to you with their platitudes, but put them in an adversarial situation, and they show their lack of brains and their patterned responses. Just take a look at Thomas Williams' interview with Bryan Ross a few years ago.

AND AGAIN: why lie about things? why make up stuff?

NB Fr. Scott Reilly is the Territorial Director of the Legion of Christ in the southern United States, based in Atlanta, GA.

I am not questioning that this is true. But can you give a link or a source? I want to point out the silliness of these comments to my RC friends.

An email from a trusted source who was at the meeting.
Exlcblogger has never led you astray yet.

No, this dude is not for real. No LC is for real.

I wonder how much more evidence US Catholics need to accept how dismal is the Legion's intellectual profile... Inane babbling, grievous irresponsible conduct... Let's hope Corcuerita & co. are soon sent to grade school.

Just not an LC or RC grade school or the same thing will happen again.

Your source left out Fr. Reilly's comment that contributions to the LC are down 60 percent, thanks to the economy.

I feel compelled to state the truth. The legion's donations are down 60% because the disobeyed the 2006 communique, their founder was exposed as a fraud and they are being investigated by the Vatican. If anyone reading this still believes Fr Scott, please seek the counsel of Bp Hermann or other Diocesan Priests.

Also please pray for these students and their families. This was handled so badly and has hurt a lit of people.

Remember, this is the same Fr Scott who, one month ago, was so keen on the LC taking over and running Southern Catholic College. Maybe I know nothing about running a college or a high school, but I would venture that if you can't afford to run a small high school, you probably can't afford to run a larger college.

Will someone please explain the principle of non-contradiction to Fr Scott? It seems he didn't grasp the notion back when he studied it in Rome.

What a ridiculous answer - "We just couldn't pull the trigger".

So what you're saying, Fr Scott, is "we didn't do it because we didn't do it", uh, okay, logical....
