Where has Fr. Bannon gone?

Where has Fr. Bannon gone?
Long time passing
Where has Fr. Bannon gone?
Long time ago
Where has Fr. Bannon gone?
Maciel has picked them every one
When will they ever learn?

The last promotional mailings asking for money from the Legion of Christ have been signed by Fr. Joseph-in-a-Burka, and not Fr. Bannon.

Fr. Anthony Bannon's name has been used on these mailing since at least 1980.

Where have all the young men gone,
gone to Legion every one

I remember a phone call between Bannon, an ExLC and a family wanting to get info on the LC before sending their son to the novitiate . . .

I never saw Bannon crash so badly and so quickly. I was so impressed at how such a "big shot" in the LC could choke so badly when confronted with simple questions . . .

Priceless!

This is a disgrace on what is happening to innocent people regarding taking their lives savings. Plus sexually abusing young men is the worst crime a person can do. These so called priests should be ashamed of themselves. This needs to be stopped one way or the other. What a disgrace. They need to put their heads down and run away.

This blog is a disgrace. If you have comments tell God directly. This is His business.

For the most part, I believe that the blame lies with the founder of the organization of the Legionaries, Fr. Maciel. Though, I hope that he repented for his grave sins and great crimes, Fr. Maciel, undoubtedly fashioned an organization that tailored to his own goals. Those who did donate to the Legion did so at the words of young priests and brothers who, for the most part, I believe had good intentions. I had the pleasure of spending a lot of time with the Legion and its movements, and throughout that time, I was not scandalized by any of their actions. Though, I did recognize their foolishness, I understood that it was largely out of the nature of the Legion as crafted by a corrupt founder. I cannot disagree more with those of you who think that each of them are maliciously disregarding the people it owes gratitude towards. The mistakes that they have made were out of being misguided by the founder. The time that I spent with the Legionaries, was undoubtedly some of the most enjoyable time I have ever had, and spiritually, some of the most fulfilling. All those that I knew were good men. Whatever criticisms I have seen on the part of this blog and others against them are all founded on problems directly and indirectly rooted in Fr. Maciel. Those, such as Fr. Bannon and Fr. Burtka never, from my memory, gave any impression of desire for anything other than helping others, and the Catholic Church. Quite frankly, to attack them illustrates nothing short of ignorance in the actual matters of the Legion.

Also, the switch from Fr. Bannon to Fr. Burtka was because, for those twenty something years, Fr. Bannon held the position as territorial director, and Fr. Burtka succeeded him within that position.
