Does this bring back any "stale" memories?

We used to call them "Irish Cakes" because by the time we got them they were green with mold. We'd have to scrape the mold off and serve them to the community without letting them know how bad they were. Or we had to put them together with the other rotten food to feed the pigs in the Apostolic School.

The people at Bozutos (sp?) were very generous, probably saved the LC many thousands per month.

Yeah, it was a total economic win for Bozutos. If it was damaged or past the expiration date they could give it to the LC and save first of all on the storage and return costs, or on the disposal fees. Then on top of that they could say it was a donation and write it off. Double whammy for Bozutos! And "Moe" was cool to give us stuff we wanted by "damaging" things on purpose.

Do they still support the LC or did they break from them?

I remember eating some spoiled fish that had been donated. As a result, I ended up in the Waterbury hospital. Thanks to the brother assistant driving 100 miles-an-hour to the emergency room, I didn't suffocate. Of course, this was a few years before the "Legionary speed limit" was mandated.

That's interesting about the fish, since my brother came to visit me in Cheshire and got horribly sick from seafood and he had to be rushed to the hospital too.
